History
ToProcess is an ongoing research on the grotesk sans-serif genre which has been lasting for almost a decade. Borrowing it’s merging approach from the famous Unica: Univers+Helvetica ( Team ‘77, 1989 ), ToProcess intends to combine the harmonious and elegant curves of Adrian Frutiger’s Univers ( 1957 ) with the sharp squarish shapes of Aldo Novarese’s Eurostile, while preserving all the distinct feautures of a sharp and efficient sans-serif. Trough a practise of trial and error, the design is constantly refined and re-defined in order to improve the alphabet coherence, balancing optical ajustments with extravagant details. Ranging from thin to ultra black, the family features a wide range of weights, which makes it a standard and versatile tool. In that regard, the typeface’s name references the famous «process colors», which refers to the standard inks used to print almost any publication. Well suited for body copy, ToProcess peforms also harmoniously in healdines and graphic applications, wheter on paper or on screen. Designed between 2013–2023, first released in 2014.
