ToLeaf unfurls its organic shapes from the legacy of Bartholomeus Voskens, a luminary Dutch type designer from the 17th century. In its quest for natural elegance, the typeface marries a serif construction with vegetal-like terminals and a deliberate embrace of low contrast, thus displaying a bold character, even in small sizes. Moving away from the reference sample on the proportions aspect, ToLeaf embeds a large x-height with small difference to the uppercases, making it able to be used in compact typesetting. Suited as much for body text than for display use, ToLeaf is composed of a minimal yet efficient pair of cut: regular and italic. Designed between 2015–2018, first released in 2018.
